Thanks to a streak of luck at a trade show, PRF was able to raise over $8,000. Rich Reed, Board member and Treasurer, won a beautiful and genuine, fully restored Antique Florence #155 wood stove, valued at approximately $3,500, at a trade show last March. The stove was donated to PRF and raffled off at the September Brimfield Antique Show in Brimfield, MA.
PRF President, and wife Audrey Gordon recalls, "Rich called me from the trade show and said, `You're not going to believe what I just won!' Truthfully, I wasn't that excited about it, but he then told me that we would donate it to the Foundation and use it to raise money and gain public awareness for Progeria. That was exciting!"
We picked the Brimfield Antique Show because it is local to us, and one of the largest antique shows in the northeast. Also, J & J Promotions, who actually began the Brimfield show years ago, generously donated booth space for us to have the raffle.
Congratulations to Bonnie Loehn of Connecticut. She is now the owner a beautiful antique wood stove.
Thanks also to the many family and friends who volunteered to work the booth, put up posters around town and sell tickets.
