Progeria Project Wins Gold & Silver Medals

Like many young students, friends Natasha and Annissa, from Arizona, did their school project on Progeria. It was so well received they entered the local STAR Events competition held by the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. They won the gold medal, then took first place in the Regional competition, and then earned the Silver medal at the Nationals in Nashville! Congratulations on your awards, ladies, you're true winners in our book!

AAA: Another Amazing Aunt!

Congratulations to Cameron's great-aunt Jody, who ran her first half-marathon in November and raised nearly $7,000! "I was awe-inspired by everyone's generosity. Yes, we knew we could count on our friends and family, but the outpouring from complete strangers was so touching," said Jody. And so is her dedication to her grand-nephew.

Aunt Emily’s Endless Devotion

Motivated by her nephew Cam, Emily Howard is one of the family's hardest-working fundraisers. She has set up collection cans, hosted bake sales and poker games, collected race sponsorships and much more. How wonderful to have such close family ties!

October 2009: Student Holds Bake Sale and Volunteers with California Chapter

Aidan, from Santa Barbara High School in California, is a friend of the Foose family. She has volunteered to help with several California Chapter events and has raised money on her own as well with a bake sale at the show grounds where she rides her horse - running back and forth between the show arena and the bake sale table! Thank you, Aidan, for being such a great volunteer!

October 2009: Coins for Cure Competition a Success for High School Students

After seeing a show on TLC about Progeria, Kellye and friend Cheyenne, from Middleton High School in Idaho, held a Coins for Cure Challenge at their school, offering the winning class a pizza party. The class that won collected over $100 in less than a week! The girls also held a bake sale, using PRF balloons and brochures to spread the word while selling cookies and muffins. They raised over $300 with both events. “It was such an accomplishment for us, we are so proud of what we did for Progeria!” And so are WE!

September 2009: Wedding Couple Shares their Special Day with PRF

In honor of their marriage, Andrea & Letizia Millioni of London made a generous donation to The Progeria Research Foundation. Here is the lovely note (in English and in their native Italian!) they gave their guests:

To celebrate our wedding, we decided to share the love we have with a donation to the Progeria Research Foundation, we gave a little extra hope to the children affected by this rare genetic condition.
We dedicate to you their smile, to remember together this day which is so special for us.

Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Millioni, for such a thoughtful gift, and Congratulations!
