Rebecca, a college student at Connecticut College in New London, CT, did a project on Progeria while she was in high school. She loved doing the project and along the way had fallen in love with the Progeria children’s high spirits and unfaltering hope, and wanted to do more for them. She began sending personal donations to PRF, and this year wanted hold a fundraiser to raise even more money. Beginning in November 2006, she set up Coins for a Cure cans around campus, and held a competition between dormitories to see who could raise the most money in a week. Her goal was to raise around $100. She raised $450.33! Our heartfelt thanks to the generous students of Connecticut College, and especially to Rebecca and her boyfriend Matt, who helped her coordinate everything.
