Every year, Kristi Anderson, a teacher at the school in Gackle, North Dakota, has each student in her Senior English class present a persuasive speech about his or her favorite charity. After the speeches have been delivered, the seniors vote to support one of the charities. The person who gave the "winning" speech then organizes a fundraiser, and the class works together on it. This year, the speech given about The Progeria Research Foundation received the vote of the class, and they raised money with a "Hat Day” and contribution from the senior class account, raising $400
! Hats off to the Senior Class, and good luck to all of you!
