Indiana’s Brownstown Electric Supply Company (BESCo) once again organized the 2nd Annual Zach Pickard Pelican Run in May. 180 walkers and runners participated, and Zach was on hand to meet every one of them. The highlight of the race was when Zach crossed the finish line while everyone cheered him on.
Determined to raise more than last year, they did so with some creative side events: selling angel food cakes and shaving their heads! “It seems in many ways the whole town is behind our efforts” says race organizer Brett Turner. We’re not surprised, BESCo – your passion for children with Progeria is evident and contagious – WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH NEXT YEAR!
BESCo employees Diana Beedie and Debbie Sweeney teamed up to bake 178 angel food cakes
as part of the Pelican Run, raising $1,430 – now that’s a lot of “dough”!
11 members of BESCo’s warehouse staff shaved their heads and raised $1,230 – thanks for the sacrifice, guys!
