Shelby Phillips
Patient Programs Coordinator
Shelby works with newly identified families to introduce them to PRF programs. She is the main point of contact for families interested in The Progeria Research Foundation’s Cell & Tissue Bank, Diagnostic Testing Program, and Medical & Research Database Program. Shelby keeps data for the Natural History Study and assists the Medical Director with data-keeping for additional internal research projects. She also helps interested families and their physicians to enroll in Sentynl’s Managed Access Program for lonafarnib. Shelby joined PRF in July of 2024 and is looking forward to connecting with patients and their families. Previously Shelby worked as a community health worker where she created educational materials for patients living with epilepsy and connected families to their local community resources. She also worked as a research assistant for 5 years, studying genes associated with the Knockout Mouse Project. Shelby earned a Master of Science in Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2022 and a B.S. in Biology in 2020. In her free time, Shelby enjoys making pottery, attending concerts, and sitting near a body of water.
