Tras haber logrado su primer y principal objetivo de encontrar el gen de la progeria, ahora est\u00e1n avanzando con el estudio detallado del defecto gen\u00e9tico.<\/p>\n<p>23 de agosto de 2002: Primera reuni\u00f3n del Consorcio de Gen\u00e9tica celebrada en Providence, Rhode Island<br \/>\nEl Consorcio Gen\u00e9tico de la Fundaci\u00f3n para la Investigaci\u00f3n de la Progeria, creado y organizado por el Director M\u00e9dico de la PRF, el Dr. Leslie B. Gordon, celebr\u00f3 su primera reuni\u00f3n en la Universidad Brown en Providence, Rhode Island, el 23 de agosto de 2002. El Consorcio Gen\u00e9tico de la PRF, que re\u00fane a expertos de todo el mundo, promueve el progreso en la investigaci\u00f3n de la progeria mediante la b\u00fasqueda del gen de la progeria y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la enfermedad mediante t\u00e9cnicas gen\u00e9ticas. Los miembros del Consorcio Gen\u00e9tico de la PRF se reunieron para compartir sus datos de laboratorio y aunar sus recursos intelectuales y de laboratorio para crear colaboraciones muy prometedoras.
