L'un des principaux objectifs de la PRF est de faire conna\u00eetre les progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans le domaine de la recherche sur la prog\u00e9ria. L'int\u00e9r\u00eat pour cette maladie s'est accru depuis la d\u00e9couverte du g\u00e8ne, car de plus en plus de scientifiques de haut niveau produisent des donn\u00e9es qui aideront \u00e0 mieux comprendre la prog\u00e9ria et \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des traitements. Le nombre de publications continue d'augmenter, dont beaucoup reconnaissent les subventions de la PRF, le soutien de la banque de cellules ou de la base de donn\u00e9es, et sont publi\u00e9es dans des revues scientifiques r\u00e9put\u00e9es et respect\u00e9es, lues par des chercheurs du monde entier.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Entre 1950 et 2002, on comptait en moyenne 14 publications par an sur la prog\u00e9ria, la plupart \u00e9tant des rapports de cas ou des analyses. Depuis la d\u00e9couverte du g\u00e8ne en 2003, le nombre de publications a consid\u00e9rablement augment\u00e9, et aujourd'hui, plus de 100 \u00e9tudes scientifiques sur la prog\u00e9ria sont publi\u00e9es chaque ann\u00e9e. Nous nous demandons s'il existe un autre domaine de recherche dans l'histoire de la science qui ait pu susciter un tel int\u00e9r\u00eat et des progr\u00e8s aussi rapides, et nous esp\u00e9rons Thus the average annual increase since 2003, the year the Progeria gene was discovered, is 2,234%!
