Mevrouw Gordon werkt nauw samen met de Raad van Bestuur, commissies, personeel en vrijwilligers en is verantwoordelijk voor de financi\u00eble en organisatorische groei, programmaontwikkeling en het dagelijkse management van The Progeria Research Foundation.<\/p>\n

Mevrouw Gordon is afgestudeerd aan Tufts University en Northeastern University School of Law. Voordat ze medeoprichter werd van The Progeria Research Foundation, beoefende ze de rechten in zowel Massachusetts als Florida.<\/p>\n

Lokaal is ze de recente voormalige voorzitter van de Peabody Rotary Club en momenteel is ze lid van de Peabody Board of Registrars. Mevrouw Gordon is erkend voor haar prestaties via de Business and Professional Women of the Year Award voor non-profitorganisaties van North of Boston, is benoemd tot Community Hero door de Jewish Family Services en heeft de Mary Upton Ferrin Award ontvangen voor leiderschap. Onder haar management als PRF's oprichter en uitvoerend directeur heeft PRF de afgelopen 10 jaar een felbegeerde 4-sterren Charity Navigator-beoordeling gekregen en heeft PRF de Paul G. Rogers Distinguished Organization Advocacy Award van Research! America ontvangen voor het brengen van progeria uit de anonimiteit naar de voorgrond van succesvol translationeel onderzoek.<\/p>\n

Mevrouw Gordon woont in Peabody, Massachusetts, met haar man Rich Reed, dochters Nadia en Svetlana, en honden Abbey en Jager.<\/p>\n

Leslie Gordon is medeoprichter van The Progeria Research Foundation en is de vrijwillige medisch directeur van de organisatie. Dr. Gordon is de hoofdonderzoeker voor lopende PRF-programma's voor Progeria, waaronder de PRF Internationaal Progeria Register<\/a>,\u00a0Medische en onderzoeksdatabase<\/a>,\u00a0Cel- en weefselbank<\/a>, en de\u00a0Genetisch Diagnostisch Programma<\/a>. Ze heeft 11 door de National Institutes of Health gefinancierde, internationale wetenschappelijke bijeenkomsten over Progeria voorgezeten. Ze is hoogleraar pediatrisch onderzoek aan het Hasbro Children's Hospital en de Alpert Medical School van Brown University en onderzoekswetenschapper aan het Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. Ze is een Research Associate in Anesthesia aan de Harvard Medical School en Senior Staff Scientist \u2013 Associate Professor aan het Boston Children's Hospital.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gordon heeft de weg vrijgemaakt voor het vinden van behandelingen en de genezing voor degenen die getroffen zijn door Progeria. Ze was co-auteur van de genontdekking voor Progeria in 2003 in Natuur<\/em>, hoofdauteur van de Progeria-behandelingsontdekkingsstudie uit 2012 in Tijdschrift van de American Medical Association (JAMA). <\/em>Ze was medevoorzitter van vier Klinische geneesmiddelenproeven voor Progeria<\/a> voor kinderen met Progeria in het Boston Children's Hospital.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gordon behaalde haar bachelordiploma aan de Universiteit van New Hampshire en haar master- en doctoraatsdiploma aan de Brown Universiteit.<\/p>\n

Barbara Natke komt naar The Progeria Research Foundation met meer dan 20 jaar ervaring in biotechnologie\/farma. Voordat ze bij PRF kwam, was Dr. Natke Vice President of Business Development bij zowel AVEO Oncology als Samyang Biopharm, USA, waar ze verantwoordelijk was voor het cre\u00ebren van pijplijnen van transformatieve therapie\u00ebn op het gebied van zeldzame ziekten en oncologie door middel van partneridentificatie, wetenschappelijke due diligence-beoordelingen en dealonderhandelingen. Daarvoor vervulde Dr. Natke verschillende functies met toenemende verantwoordelijkheid in de Shire\/Takeda-organisatie, waaronder Scientific Director en Due Diligence Lead. Voordat ze de overstap maakte naar de zakelijke kant van de farmaceutische industrie, leidde Barbara 8 jaar lang laboratoriumgroepen bij Genzyme\/Sanofi na haar postdoctorale studies aan het Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Natke heeft een PhD in biochemie van de Boston University School of Medicine en een MBA van Babson College.<\/p>\n

Paula is Engagement Director binnen de Client Accounting and Advisory Services van CliftonLarsonAllen. Ze bouwt relaties op en biedt diensten aan klanten om hun boekhoudkundige en financi\u00eble problemen op te lossen, of het nu op projectbasis is of als interim-rol. Paula heeft meer dan 25 jaar ervaring in financi\u00eble managementactiviteiten, financi\u00eble rapportage en planning binnen de productie-, private equity- en non-profitsector. Ze is ook voormalig universitair docent boekhouden aan Dean College. Paula behaalde een MBA aan Providence College en is lid van het American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.<\/p>\n

Dr. Collins adviseert de medisch directeur van PRF over zaken met betrekking tot medisch onderzoek en andere wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen, waaronder gentherapie, om de missie van PRF te bevorderen om behandelingen en genezing te ontdekken voor kinderen en jongvolwassenen met Progeria. De afgelopen 25 jaar is deze gewaardeerde arts-wetenschapper een fervent voorstander geweest van en een belangrijke bijdrage geleverd aan het gebied van Progeria-onderzoek, inclusief de ontdekking van het Progeria-gen in 2003. Hij is momenteel lid van de Progeria-genenteam, <\/strong>een buitengewone groep van wereldberoemde wetenschappers en vernieuwers die samenwerken met PRF om een transformatieve genbewerkingstherapie<\/a> die Progeria zou kunnen genezen.<\/p>\n

Dr. Collins heeft gedurende zijn carri\u00e8re een breed scala aan onderzoeksontdekkingen ge\u00efnitieerd. Onder leiding van Dr. Collins produceerde het Human Genome Project in 2003 de eerste voltooide sequentie van het instructieboek voor menselijk DNA. Naast progeria heeft zijn onderzoek geleid tot de ontdekking van de genetische oorzaak en mogelijke behandeling van cystische fibrose, neurofibromatose en de ziekte van Huntington. Van 2009 tot 2021 was hij onder drie presidenten directeur van de Amerikaanse National Institutes of Health, de grootste ondersteuner van biomedisch onderzoek ter wereld. Hij heeft talloze onderscheidingen en prijzen ontvangen voor zijn bijdragen aan de wetenschap, geneeskunde en maatschappij, waaronder de Presidential Medal of Freedom, de National Medal of Science en de Templeton Prize.<\/p>\n

Gina werkt nauw samen met de Executive Director en het personeel om ervoor te zorgen dat alle financi\u00eble, human resources en andere operationele beleidslijnen en procedures worden gevolgd. Dit alles zodat The Progeria Research Foundation zo effici\u00ebnt en effectief mogelijk draait. Ze heeft verschillende functies bekleed bij The Progeria Research Foundation en is enthousiast over haar nieuwe rol, die in april 2019 is begonnen! Gina is afgestudeerd aan Salem State University.<\/p>\n

Michelle houdt toezicht op het ontwikkelingsteam van PRF. Ze werkt nauw samen met onze Development Specialist aan alle interne evenementen, waaronder ons kenmerkende Night of Wonder Gala, Cure Cup Classic Golf Tournament en International Race for Research 5K-wegrace. Michelle beheert onze ONEpossible, Annual Appeal-campagnes en een portfolio van enthousiaste donateurs. Tracy Lessor heeft meer dan 25 jaar ervaring in wetenschap en corporate communicatie binnen de biotech- en farmaceutische industrie. Voorheen was ze Executive Director Corporate Affairs en Investor Relations bij Schr\u00f6dinger, waar ze leiding gaf aan alle externe en interne communicatie. Bij Amgen leidde ze de wereldwijde communicatie voor de afdeling biosimilars, inclusief de lancering van de eerste vijf biosimilars van het bedrijf. Eerder in haar carri\u00e8re was ze meer dan tien jaar Senior Vice President bij Feinstein Kean Healthcare\/Ogilvy, waar ze de strategie en storytelling voor baanbrekende wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen vormgaf. Ze behaalde een doctoraat in moleculaire en celbiologie aan het University of Medicine Greenebaum Cancer Center, een MBA aan Babson College en is gecertificeerd redacteur van Life Sciences (ELS).<\/span><\/p>\n

Karen is verantwoordelijk voor het updaten en onderhouden van PRF's social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube en meer!). Karen werkt nauw samen met de PRF-staf en updatet ook alle aspecten van PRF's website. Karen is de vrijwillige websitespecialist sinds PRF in 1999 werd opgericht. Ze heeft ook de eer om Sam's tante te zijn en zus van Executive Director Audrey Gordon en Medical Director Leslie Gordon.<\/p>\n

Karen is afgestudeerd aan de University of Massachusetts en is gecertificeerd in Grooming\/Kennel Management van Essex Agricultural and Technical College. Karen is de eigenaar van Dierenmanieren, Inc<\/a>, die training en gedragsadvies geeft aan honden. Ze woont in New Hampshire met haar man David, tweelingmeisjes Paige en Skyler, honden Jazz en Logan en kat Freddie Mercury.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong>Als PRF's Patient Community Platform Administrator is Marianna verantwoordelijk voor het beheer van het nieuwe community engagement platform. In deze functie beheert ze de setup, uitvoering en het dagelijkse onderhoud samen met het PRF-team. Marianna beheert en initieert ook gebruikersaccounts en -machtigingen, werkt samen met het team van de medisch directeur om potenti\u00eble nieuwe pati\u00ebnten te identificeren en verzamelt feedback van communityleden en het PRF-team om de productfuncties van het platform vorm te geven. Marianna heeft een Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences met een minor in Chemistry van Rowan University en een Masters in Global Public Health van New York University.<\/p>\n

Odette kwam in maart 2015 bij Progeria Research en werkt nauw samen met het Development Team als parttime Donor Services Assistant. Ze is verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse invoer van giften in de database en het uitvoeren van de bijbehorende ontvangstbewijzen, evenals het monitoren van het Match Gifts Program. Voordat ze bij PRF kwam, werkte ze 15 jaar als administratief assistent en databasebeheerder voor het Development Office op de Austin Preparatory School. Ze heeft een Bachelor of Science-graad van de Boston University. In haar vrije tijd beheert ze het zomerhuis van haar familie in Maine, reist ze de wereld rond met haar man en helpt ze met de zorg voor hun 8 kleinkinderen.<\/p>\n

Kelly heeft meer dan 20 jaar ervaring met non-profit databases, en heeft gewerkt voor Perkins School for the Blind en Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. Kelly is afgestudeerd aan de University of Massachusetts Lowell.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong>Darrien is verantwoordelijk voor het beheer van alle niet-medische logistiek voor klinische proeven, inclusief reizen en verblijf, en fungeert daarnaast als het primaire aanspreekpunt voor Progeria-families. Ze speelt een belangrijke rol bij het faciliteren van de communicatie tussen PRF en de co\u00f6rdinatoren van deelnemende Boston-ziekenhuizen. Daarnaast assisteert ze de Patient Programs Coordinator met PRF's andere onderzoeksgerelateerde programma's.<\/p>\n

Darrien heeft een diploma van Champlain College met een achtergrond in non-profit management, marketing, communicatie en gezondheidszorg. Met een diepe toewijding aan het verbeteren van het zorgsysteem, is ze gepassioneerd over het verzekeren van de best mogelijke zorg en middelen voor individuen die medische uitdagingen doorstaan. Buiten werktijd is Darrien een dierenliefhebber, met \u00e9\u00e9n hond en twee katten, en brengt ze graag tijd door met haar harige metgezellen.<\/p>\n

In haar vrije tijd is ze graag buiten, brengt ze tijd door met haar dochters en uit ze haar creativiteit door middel van eigen muziek.<\/p>\n

Shelby werkt met pas ge\u00efdentificeerde families om hen kennis te laten maken met PRF-programma's. Ze is het belangrijkste aanspreekpunt voor families die ge\u00efnteresseerd zijn in de Cell & Tissue Bank, Diagnostic Testing Program en Medical & Research Database Program van The Progeria Research Foundation. Shelby bewaart gegevens voor de Natural History Study en helpt de medisch directeur met het bijhouden van gegevens voor aanvullende interne onderzoeksprojecten. Ze helpt ook ge\u00efnteresseerde families en hun artsen om zich in te schrijven voor Sentynl's Managed Access Program voor lonafarnib. Shelby is in juli 2024 bij PRF gekomen en kijkt ernaar uit om contact te maken met pati\u00ebnten en hun families. Shelby werkte eerder als gemeenschapsgezondheidswerker, waar ze educatief materiaal maakte voor pati\u00ebnten met epilepsie en families in contact bracht met hun lokale gemeenschapsbronnen. Ze werkte ook 5 jaar als onderzoeksassistent, waar ze genen bestudeerde die verband houden met het Knockout Mouse Project. Shelby behaalde in 2022 een Master of Science in Dierlijke Biotechnologie en Biomedische Wetenschappen aan de Universiteit van Massachusetts Amherst en in 2020 een BS in Biologie. In haar vrije tijd houdt Shelby van het maken van aardewerk, het bezoeken van concerten en het zitten bij een waterpartij.<\/p>\n

Mary begon haar carri\u00e8re als klinisch onderzoeksverpleegkundige in oncologie aan de Universiteit van Pittsburgh en haar satellietinstellingen. Ze werd een sponsor oncologie onderzoeksverpleegkundige met verantwoordelijkheden als sitemanager voor klinische onderzoeken in een vroeg stadium van oncologie als klinische gegevensmonitor en bood regelgevend toezicht en algemene ondersteuning voor de institutionele teams die de klinische onderzoeken uitvoerden. Ze heeft gewerkt voor sponsors zoals Merck, Pfizer, Novartis en Wyeth.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Working closely with the Board of Directors, committees, staff and volunteers, Ms. Gordon is responsible for ensuring The Progeria Research Foundation\u2019s financial growth, program development and day to day management.<\/u><\/u><\/p>

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Ms. Gordon is a graduate of Tufts University and Northeastern University School of Law, and is an attorney licensed to practice in Massachusetts since 1988 and Florida since 1990. She has extensive civil litigation experience in both states. Locally, she is a member of the Peabody Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of the Peabody Rotary Club, and has served on the Peabody Board of Registrars since 2006. Nationally, Ms. Gordon serves on the Board of Advisors of\u00a0Global Genes|RARE Project\u00a0and the\u00a0Rare Disease Report.\u00a0\u00a0She is the 2004 winner of the North of Boston Business and Professional Women of the Year award for non-profit organizations, and the 2005 recipient of the Mary Upton Ferrin Award for leadership in her community. She was honored as a Community Hero by Jewish Family Services in April 2009. Under her leadership as PRF\u2019s founding President and Executive Director, PRF was first awarded a 4-star Charity Navigator rating (which has endured for the past 5 years), and PRF received Research!America\u2019s 2014 Paul G. Rogers Distinguished Organization Advocacy Award for bringing progeria from obscurity to the forefront of successful translational research.<\/p>

Medical Director
\"\"Leslie B. Gordon, MD, PhD<\/a><\/strong>
Leslie Gordon is a co-founder of The Progeria Research Foundation\u00a0and serves as the organization's volunteer Medical Director. Dr. Gordon is the Principal Investigator for ongoing PRF programs for Progeria, including the PRF International Progeria Registry<\/a>, Medical and Research Database<\/a>, Cell and Tissue Bank<\/a>, and the Genetic Diagnostics Program<\/a>. She has organized 8 National Institutes of Health-funded, international scientific meetings<\/a> on Progeria. She is Professor of Pediatrics Research at Hasbro Children\u2019s Hospital and the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI; Research Associate in Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children\u2019s Hospital and Research Scientist at Women & Infants Hospital, all in Boston, MA. She was co-author on the 2003 gene discovery for Progeria, lead author of the 2012 Progeria treatment discovery study, and is co-chair of four Progeria clinical drug trials<\/a> at Boston Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>

She has received the March of Dimes Basil O\u2019Connor Award, the American Heart Association Scientist Development Award, The Gerontological Society of America Award for contributions to Progeria, a National Institutes of Health Bench to Bedside Grant, and the Mother of the Year award from Working Mother Magazine.<\/p>

Dr. Gordon earned her bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. She went on to receive a master's degree and medical and doctorate degrees from Brown University and the Brown University School of Medicine respectively, where she achieved top honors in the medical program.<\/p>

Barbara F. Gordon, ESQ.<\/strong>
Barbara F. Gordon earned an Associate's Degree from Boston University School of Business in 1955. She married Burt in 1958 and they have four daughters and seven grandchildren. In 1979 she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University and in 1981 a Master's Degree in Education from Salem State College. In 1995 she earned a Juris Doctor degree from Massachusetts School of Law, and currently has her own practice. She and her husband are long-standing members of Temple Beth Shalom in Peabody, Massachusetts.<\/p>

<\/b>Paula is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Dean College, teaching Financial and Managerial Accounting for the past five years.\u00a0 Prior to that she worked for Citrin Cooperman (formerly Kirkland Albrecht & Fredrickson, P.C.) providing accounting and tax services to individuals and small businesses.\u00a0 She also worked as the Director of Corporate Accounting for Dunkin\u2019 Donuts managing financial reporting and the budgeting process.\u00a0 She earned an M.B.A from Providence College and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]<\/p>

As a lifelong Peabody resident, she loves working at The Progeria Research Foundation's\u00a0headquarters in her home town. \u00a0Lynne is a 1988 graduate of Salem State College, where she majored in English\/Art. After working many years as a Marketing Representative for A&M\u00a0and Virgin Records, she shifted to part time administration as National Sales Assistant at Epic\u00a0Records and Office Assistant at Universal Distribution.<\/p><\/div>

Senior Development Officer
\"\"<\/strong>Lytta Teta<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>
Lytta works with the Development team to implement fundraising initiatives, create key messages and materials, and build relationships with long-term donors.<\/p>

Previously, Lytta was Director of Development at James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club in Woburn, MA; prior to that she spent eight years in Advancement at the Museum of Science, Boston. Lytta graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she began her fundraising career as a student caller for the university\u2019s Annual Fund.<\/p>

Clinical Trial Coordinator\/Family Liaison
<\/strong>Molly McDermott<\/strong><\/a>\"\"<\/strong>
Molly joined PRF in April 2018 and is the first point of contact with the newly diagnosed families.\u00a0 She works with the hospital\u2019s trial team, as the liaison for the families, on trial related logistics.\u00a0 Molly coordinates trial visits to Boston from all over the world, securing passports, visas, airfare, lodging, setting up visits for the trial families.<\/p>

Molly\u2019s career has been in non-profit organizations assisting families, working at the American Cancer Society in Cleveland, Ohio after graduating from Ohio University.\u00a0 In 2012 she moved east and was a Clinical Care Specialist for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Massachusetts before joining PRF.<\/p>

Office Manager\/Executive Assistant
\"\"Kristine Valente<\/a><\/strong>
Kristine is PRF\u2019s Office Manager and Executive Assistant supporting the daily functions of the President and Executive Director. Her work experience includes ten plus years working in the Treasury and Private Banking divisions of a major bank as well as several years of Real Estate sales experience.\u00a0 Kristine is excited for the opportunity to work in an environment that is making a difference for those who are most vulnerable. Kristine is a Salem State graduate with a BS in Business.<\/p>

Part-time Executive Administrative Assistant<\/strong>
\"\"Christina Sollecito<\/strong><\/a>
Christina is the part-time Executive Administrative Assistant to the Medical Director and Co-Founder of Progeria Research Foundation, Dr. Leslie Gordon.<\/p>

In this position, Christina provides support and manages an extremely active calendar for Dr. Gordon and serves as the primary contact with hospitals, researchers, clinicians, and families throughout the world for scheduling meetings, communications and conference calls.<\/p>

Christina has earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University. She has a varied background as an Executive Administrative Assistant, Marketing Manager, and Product Manager. Her attention to detail and motivation to helping others has made it possible to be successful in previous positions.<\/p>

Data Specialist
<\/strong>\"\"Odette Kent<\/a>
<\/strong>Odette came to Progeria in March of 2015 and works closely with the Development Team as the part-time Donor Services Assistant.\u00a0 She is responsible for the day to day input of gifts into the database and running the corresponding letters of receipt as well as monitoring the Match Gifts Program.\u00a0 Before coming to Progeria, she worked for 15 years as the Administrative Assistant and Database Manager for the Development Office at Austin Preparatory School.\u00a0 She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University.\u00a0 In her spare time she manages her family summer home in Maine, travels the world with her husband and helps take care of their 5 grandchildren.<\/p>

Web Site Coordinator<\/strong>
Karen Gordon Betournay, <\/a>CPDT-KA, AABP-CDT<\/strong>
Working closely with the PRF Staff, Karen is responsible for maintaining and updating all aspects of PRF's website. Karen has been the volunteer web site specialist since PRF was founded in 1999. She also has the honor of being Sam's Aunt, and sister to Executive Director Audrey Gordon and Medical Director Leslie Gordon.<\/p>

Karen is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and is certified in Grooming\/Kennel Management from Essex Agricultural and Technical College. Karen is the owner of Animal Manners, Inc<\/a>, providing training and behavior counseling for canines. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband David, twin girls Paige and Skyler, dogs Jazz and Logan, and cat Freddie
