\"\"Op maandag 17 april 2023 zal de Progeria Research Foundation twee trouwe PRF-supporters aanmoedigen die namens de Progeria-gemeenschap de straat op gaan in de Boston Marathon: Paul Michienzie uit Foxboro (rechts) en Bobby Nadeau (links) uit Mansfield. De goede vrienden zullen de felbegeerde 26,2 mijl lange route lopen om geld in te zamelen voor de behandeling van Progeria.<\/p>\n

Paul loopt de marathon namens PRF voor het 3e jaar op rij, maar hij trainde eigenlijk voor vier marathons - de eerste werd geannuleerd vanwege COVID. Paul en zijn gezin waren goede vrienden en buren met Drs. Leslie Gordon en Scott Berns (PRF medeoprichters) en hun zoon Sam Berns die Progeria had en in 2014 overleed. Sam liet een erfenis van inspiratie achter die PRF en haar supporters nu drijft om de zoektocht naar een remedie voort te zetten.<\/p>\n

Sindsdien heb ik geleerd dat ik alles kan doen wat ik wil en ik droom ervan om de Boston Marathon te rennen voor mijn 45e.
