De aankondiging werd geleid door PRF medisch directeur Dr. Leslie Gordon. Het panel van sprekers bestond uit Dr. Francis Collins, hoofd van het Human Genome Project, Dr. W. Ted Brown, wereldexpert op het gebied van Progeria, en John Tacket, PRF&#039;s Youth Ambassador.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170216040541im_\/https:\/\/www.progeriaresearch.org\/assets\/images\/medical_images\/JohnFrancis-NPC-Apr2003.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><strong>&quot;Dit is een opwindende dag voor mij en mijn vrienden&quot;, zei John Tacket terwijl hij de verslaggevers toesprak.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het verhaal werd gerapporteerd door Reuters, AP en UPI, en verscheen in vrijwel elke grote krant in de Verenigde Staten en People magazine. Televisieverslaggeving omvatte CNN, The Today Show en ABC, NBC, CBS en FOX-filialen in het hele land.
