This wonderful story of teenage Miracle Makers in China is another example of how finding a cure for Progeria is truly a global effort. The 8th grade students at Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) organized a fundraiser to support the first-ever Progeria clinical drug trial. The students, moved to tears when they learned about Progeria, held a dance with games, raffles and a bake sale, raising $1,130! “They worked very hard, using their free time during lunch and after school organizing the event”, said biology teacher and event advisor Izumi Tsurumi, “These generous students represent the community spirit and outreach that is important to SCIS.” We agree completely!
