Then the crowd of 500 poured into the Live Auction room, where they viewed a video of some of the children with Progeria. It was a touching moment for all, as they watched the smiling faces of these wonderful children set to the music of "How Sweet it Is" by James Taylor. After that, the action began, with another video of some of the live auction items, put to upbeat music that got the crowd clapping and dancing in their seats! The Live Auction was an hour of action-packed, high bidding well beyond our expectations. The night continued with some "late night specials" up for bid, delicious desserts and coffee drinks, and more dancing until midnight.
All night long people remarked at what a great party it was, full of energy, well-organized and loads of fun. Our hats go off to the Friends of The Progeria Research Foundation and all the volunteers, donors, supporters, patrons and attendees of the event. They all made the success of the Night of Wonder possible.
"...Some of you are going to go home tonight with some really wonderful things. Every single one of you will go home with something that can never be taken away from you, something that you can never lose. The idea that through your generosity and willingness to respond you have perhaps brought us one step closer to working a miracle for little children who, perhaps more than anyone else alive, deserve to have a miracle worked for them.
-Night of Wonder Honorary Chairman Rabbi Harold Kushner
