On a day that supposedly had 100% chance of rain, the skies cleared and a record 250 people came out to run
and walk for Progeria research – amazing!! Thank you all for making The Progeria Research Foundation’s 7th Annual International Race for Research the biggest and best race yet, raising over $25,000 – an all-time high – and enjoying a terrific after-party at city hall. I don’t think anyone there will ever forget the smiling faces of the 3 children with Progeria on stage, holding their trophies.

And of course, we could not hold such a successful event without the help of
Peabody Mayor Bonfanti, Mary Bellavance, Judy Selesnick, the
Peabody Police Department, Peabody High’s ROTC members, Coaches Rocha and Braz and Peabody High’s track teams, and our other volunteers;
Emmanuelle Cardoso, The Gannon Family, Cheryl, Jeff and Drew Levin, Selma Michaelman, Bob O’Brien, Debbie Ponn, Hannah Schwartz and friends, Sharon Wyner, Thais Van Kirk and Bo Widick. Congratulations to
Kerri Burke and
Ramses Montero, overall females and male winner of the 5K race, and to
Zachary Atanasoff, first walker to cross the finish line. And to everyone else who participated -
you are ALL winners to children with Progeria.
